Demonia

Original Poetic Verses by
Giuseppina Amodei
EuDemonia is an exploration of the demon imbedded in the feminine. By Demon I refer - Fabrizio Portalupi says - not to the negative and punitive connotations associated with the religious aspects of the word but rather with the intrinsic meaning with EUDEMONIA: happiness as man’s ultimate life confirming objective.
The woman-demon manifests herself in every existing aspect of nature. Our fascination with her is endless. She plays with life, plays with us, and the more she does so the more our fascination grows. Perfectly conscious of the lure of her beauty, she uses it as a deadly weapon in the dance of seduction. She drags us into an irresistible act of deceit, which causes us to ponder upon an existential matter: what is ephemeral and foolish, pleasure itself or the experience of pain and suffering that we often impose upon ourselves, or worse still, self-generate?
